Science & Benefits

TEA-Lactate is the triethanolamine salt of lactic acid. It is a highly substantive humectant that closely mimics the lactic acid components of the skin's own Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF). It provides superior water-binding capacity and is valued for its ability to leave the skin feeling exceptionally soft and conditioned. While it is zero-comedogenic, the TEA component carries a very low irritancy risk (1) for those with hypersensitive skin. It is a logical ingredient for high-performance moisturizers intended to repair the severe dryness often seen in skin treated with Isotretinoin or benzoyl peroxide.
