Sucrose Laurate
Science & Benefits
Sucrose Laurate is a sugar-derived emulsifier and surfactant that provides a unique 'milk-on-contact' texture when used in cleansing oils or balms. It is valued for its ability to remove waterproof sunscreen and heavy pigments without the need for harsh rubbing, which can aggravate inflammatory acne. Chemically, it is a surfactant that also functions as a skin-conditioning humectant, leaving the barrier intact and hydrated. Because the lauric acid is esterified with sucrose, it loses the high comedogenicity usually associated with pure lauric acid, resulting in a safe, zero-clogging profile. It is a brilliant 'multitasking' ingredient for achieving deep cleansing alongside intensive barrier support.
