Science & Benefits

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) is a stabilized, water-soluble salt of Vitamin C. Unlike pure L-ascorbic acid, SAP is highly stable at a neutral pH (around 7.0), making it exceptionally gentle for reactive skin. In clinical studies, SAP has demonstrated a unique antimicrobial effect against Cutibacterium acnes, making it one of the few Vitamin C derivatives that can actually prevent breakouts. As a humectant, it provides weightless hydration while neutralizing free radicals that oxidize surface sebum. It is completely non-comedogenic and serves as a 'bulletproof' antioxidant for oily skin prone to inflammatory acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
