PEG-8 Beeswax
Science & Benefits
PEG-8 Beeswax is a modified version of natural beeswax that has been ethoxylated to be water-dispersible. While standard beeswax can be heavy and occlusive (potentially trapping bacteria), PEG-8 Beeswax is lighter and allows for the creation of 'gel-creams' that wash away more easily. Its comedogenic rating of 2 reflects a low-to-moderate risk, making it significantly safer than pure waxes for acne-prone individuals. It provides a protective film that prevents moisture loss while ensuring the skin remains breathable. It is an effective texture enhancer that gives products a rich feel without the high density that typically leads to 'acne cosmetica' in oily skin types.
