Science & Benefits
Kojic Acid is a chelation agent produced by several species of fungi. It inhibits tyrosinase by binding to the copper ions required for melanin production. Its 'Average' rating is due to its instability (oxidizes quickly) and its status as a frequent sensitizer. In an acne routine, it is effective but logically inferior to stabilized Vitamin C or Azelaic Acid for sensitive complexions.
