Gluconobacter/Honey Ferment Filtrate
Science & Benefits
This ingredient is produced by fermenting honey with the bacterium Gluconobacter. This bio-technological process transforms the natural sugars in honey into Gluconic Acid, a Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA). Unlike traditional AHAs, PHAs provide a very gentle, slow-release chemical exfoliation that clears dead skin cells from the pore opening without disrupting the skin barrier. Because PHAs are naturally humectant, this ferment hydrates the skin while it clarifies. It is completely non-comedogenic and represents a 'bulletproof' solution for acne-prone individuals who require consistent exfoliation but suffer from reactive or sensitive skin conditions.
