Ceramide NP is a skin-identical lipid that makes up approximately 50% of the stratum corneum's intercellular cement. In acne-prone skin, ceramide levels are often depleted, leading to a 'leaky' barrier and increased sensitivity. Ceramide NP reinforces the skin's structural integrity, physically 'locking' water into the skin. It is entirely non-comedogenic and zero-irritant. It is a mandatory inclusion for any routine using dehydrating actives (like Salicylic Acid), as it ensures the water attracted by humectants remains trapped within the skin matrix.
