Capryloyl Salicylic Acid
Science & Benefits
Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (LHA) is a lipophilic derivative of salicylic acid with a larger molecular structure. This increased size allows it to stay in the stratum corneum longer and penetrate the sebaceous unit more slowly and evenly than standard BHA. It provides cell-by-cell exfoliation (micro-exfoliation), which effectively clears the pore of keratinized debris while minimizing the risk of irritation or 'purging.' Additionally, LHA has been shown to induce pro-collagen production. It is a 'bulletproof' choice for sensitive, acne-prone skin that requires consistent chemical exfoliation but cannot tolerate the rapid penetration of standard salicylic acid.
